Well apart from the partying daughter thats still in bed (god knows how on a day like this!)
The husband has gone to work and i was thinking.....
A year ago in the same scenario i would have maybe done the housework and spent most of the day pottering about, not doing much but today i have already....
Blitzed the house, hung 3 lines of washing out, showered and taken myself off on a bike ride, just a short one today (7 miles) but while i was out it made me think how much i have changed, i was riding along, singing my head off and whistling to my ipod without a care in the world and i realised that this time last year i just wouldn't have done that.
I would have stayed indoors out of the sun, waiting for some company before i even thought about doing anything, i have the energy and confidence to just take off and do what 'I' want now and you know,
'Its great!'
More proof , if needed that weight loss really does change your life for the better :o)
Well this is my first attempt so not a great one but here are my pics of the last 2 years.
Be warned, some of the pictures are shockers but i need them to remind me as well as show you!
Well we got up at the crack of dawn (as per) this morning so we got ready and went out for a walk.
We arrive in Ilam at 7.30am and walked to Thorpe to do our usual 6 mile walk, it was glorious, sunny and lovely and quiet, all we could hear was the running stream and the birds singing, that has to be better than lying in bed?
I was stomping ahead as i do and turned around to see Karl had been taking a picture of me, when i asked why, he said it was so i could my backside, apparently i do not have one now!
So here it is, with another i posed for...
Back at home at 1pm with a pedometer reading of 9.7 miles and 21,339 steps so i am feeling rather good today, i have cut the grass, now cooking yesterdays roast we didn't have then off for a bike ride, weather permitting, i LOVE all this energy :o)
Now for my mini rant.....
Why are people so ignorant?
We had to pop into a shop on the way there to get Karl a loaf of bread for the ducks (yes i know hes 45 but he thinks he's Dr doolittle I'm sure) so we had a bag with us as the ducks were 3 miles into the walk, well after he had talked to and fed the ducks we made our way back and decided to litter pick and this is the result...
Now presumably all this was dropped by either adults or children,in which case if it is children, why are the parents not teaching them to keep such a beauty spot clean, it seriously does baffle me how some people can be so brain dead!
I'm sure people thought we were strange picking up rubbish but with a bit of luck it made at least one person think twice?
Beautiful things first, here are some pictures that i took today while we were in the Peak District, this was Castleton which is such a gorgeous little village.

After walking round for a while and having a very healthy (3 point) salad and fruit with yoghurt picnic,we stopped at Bakewell which is another gorgeous town and i went back to the dreaded coffee shop where i last week had lemon meringue pie.
Now there was a good reason/excuse, it is one of the hubby's fave deserts so he just had to have a piece, well they had run out but do you think that stopped me having a piece of chocolate fudge cake with ice cream instead?
But..... i need to get my head around the fact that i can have treats, not every day but i can have them, i have got to stop feeling guilty for fancying something so 'naughty'
The good news is i didn't have any dinner, i just didn't need any and when we got home, i bathed the dog then went out on a 10 mile bike ride!
So all in all i have had a great day, and it's reminded me, maintainance is all about balancing.
And i lost 0.5 lb
I was really pleased with that, i know i had a few treats last week and rather a lot of Smirnoff Ices on Saturday night so to have lost anything was great, although in all honesty i think it may have had something to do with last weeks sts, i had worked so hard that week, but i guess it just goes to show how our bodies don't always respond at the time we want to sometimes.
I am firmly back on the wagon and starting to up the exercise after a lazy week with Mum, i just wish it would stop raining, not much fun on the bike in the rain let alone the strong winds.
Hurry up summer!
for anytime in the future i think a 'few' treats wont hurt.
Well we went to a gig on Saturday night, travelled to Bedford (90 miles away)got there at 7pm an hadn't eaten since lunchtime so hubby fell into a chippy and i ended up at the kebab shop next door buying a burger, not a good start, yes i had 10 points left but of course that and the many Smirnoff Ices later (2.5 points each) took me way over my points for the day.
Yesterday i was not too bad, cooked mum a roast dinner but went over my points again by the end of the day so this morning i have woken up, feeling all lethargic and knowing that today i MUST have some sort of detox and get back on the wagon.
According to the wii fit yesterday morning i had put on 3lbs, by the time i went on again last night(obsessed i am) i had put on another 2lb so thats 5 lb in a day!
Yes i know it wil be volume of food but by god it made me feel awful so today i take mum to Nottingham, put her on a bus home and get back on the plan with a vengeance!
